TMNet Streamyx ADSL Modem Light is Blinking Frequently

Recently, I am not productive in work. The main reason is because I have been having bad Internet connection since last month.
The TMnet Streamyx broadband connection is very unstable. It disconnects very often and have problem staying connected for a couple hours, plus it is hard to reconnect. The modem DSL light is blinking very often. The phone line has noisy noises.
I made a report at Telekom Malaysia at Oct 23, 2007. The contractor came on the next day to check and fix the problem. They changed the phone socket box to a new one (RM5) and test the line. It was okay.
But, just as soon as they left, the phone line was noisy again and the DSL light was blinking. *shrug*
At the next day, my mother received a call from Telekom asking whether the problem has been solved or not. She doesn’t know Malay language. “Tak tau. (means: […]

New Mac Ads; Same Gags, Still Funny [Apple]

newVideoPlayer(”macpodium_gizmodo.flv”, 475, 376);Apple has just dropped three new commercials in the Get a Mac series. The adverts have the same old Mac Vs. PC theme, but they are still funny. Plus, no one has shouted us down for being fanboys for at least four posts straight. That, quite frankly, is unacceptable. So, here we are showing some Apple love and giving their new shoots some space. Truth be told, Mac and PC are both such douches, we don’t really want to own either, but hell, they do make us chuckle. Jump in for two more.
newVideoPlayer(”macpr_gizmodo.flv”, 475, 376);newVideoPlayer(”macboxer_gizmodo.flv”, 475, 376);We see what is so appealing about Ubuntu; it lives the trouble free life. We just can’t stand this rivalry, it makes our hearts hurt. Who are we kidding? We love it. “Ask not what Vista can do for you, ask what you can buy for Vista.” Classic.

Google to acquire Sprint Nextel for Mobile WiMax?

It’s just a rumor, in fact, it feels more like speculation than anything backed by a reputable source; still, there’s a Google / Sprint buzz getting a lot of play this morning. Rich Tehrani is reporting that Google is considering an acquisition of Sprint Nextel in order to grow its mobile business. Of course, Google has long touted the importance it places on mobile ad revenues, made all the more evident by their recent preparation for the 700MHz auction and the figurehead role Google now plays in the Open Handset Alliance’s Android platform. Sprint, for its part, is already on good terms with Google as a member of the OHA and that WiMAX mobile services deal which Clearwire just bailed on. In fact, it’s access to that beleaguered WiMAX network which has the pundits in such a tizzy. While we’d love to see Google in a deal with Apple, Intel, […]

Wii Shaft: the arcade-style joystick for virtual console titles

We have to believe that the name of this arcade-style joystick was chosen more for hype and less for, well, anything else, but nevertheless, it’s yet another way to add even more retro to the virtual console experience. Slated to arrive just in time for the holidays, The Shaft will be available in arctic white, coral pink and midnight black, and it will darn near take up your entire lap, too. The oversized creation sports a customizable turbo function along with six control buttons, but we could certainly see this thing becoming an excellent chew toy for Fido if left unattended for an extended period of time. The ’stick can be pre-ordered right now for $39.95, or you can appear infinitely wise by snapping up two for “just” $69.95.

Disney Mobile Resurrected—In Japan [Cellphones]

Almost two months after announcing that it’d be shutting down in the US at the end of the year, Disney Mobile’s finding new life across the sea. Disney’s latest MVNO—Japan’s first, according to Reuters—will run off of Softbank’s network and sell its phones at Softbank’s stores. With two dead MVNOs under its belt, going for round three in one of the tightest markets in the world seems insane, but the level of Disney love in Japan might give them a shot at actually making money this time. Sony DualShock 3 unboxing: ready to rumble?

While it wasn’t as though our Tokyo bureau was blessed with PS3 firmware 2.0 way in advance of us poor saps in the States, they certainly were among the first in the world to snag the retail release of the most controversial next-gen controller, MIA since launch in late 2006 until now: Sony’s DualShock 3. (In ceramic white, no less!) It’s nothing you haven’t already seen here on Engadget, but feel free to inspect the package porn in the gallery below, letting waves of envy wash over you as that ¥5,500 ($50 US) burns a hole in your pocket. But hey, no reason to get too worked up, after all what possible need could your next-gen PlayStation have for the hottest “last-gen” feature on the block?

Intel launches desktop and server-class 45nm Penryn processors: a sweet 16 indeed

Right on schedule, we’ve got 16 new server and high-end desktop processors based on Intel’s new 45nm manufacturing and Penryn architecture. The procs all deliver more power from less juice while eliminating lead for a more eco-friendly impact over time. The QX9650 desktop proc receives the spotlight, again, as does the “world-record” setting performance of a 3.2GHz quad-core Xeon 5400 “Stoakley” proc with a 1600MHz front side bus and 12MB cache. Right, the same chip that Apple’s rumored to be waiting on for their Mac Pro update. At least some of the new processors will be available today inside pre-built systems — the rest will arrive within the next 45 days. Bulk pricing begins at $177 for the 1.86Ghz dual-core Xeon on up to $1,279 for the 3.2GHz quad-core mother.
